Monthly Archives: October 2017

Time is Flying – It’s October already!

Our days are flying by and we’re having tons of fun while we’re learning.  Thank you for being such awesome parents.  I’m enjoying my time with your children so much, and I sincerely love your support!  Thank you for the many apple day donations.  The kids loved our home made applesauce.  Thank you for signing and returning tests so promptly, and for placing lunch money in a zip lock bag with your child’s name and 1-T.  It’s the little things that you do that help to keep us organized each day!

Reading groups are beginning, so please check your child’s book bag for a red reading folder.  There will be a book of sight words to practice as well as a small book to read.  Please initial the post it note/book marker each night that you read with your child.  The same book may come home a few nights in a row.  We’re working on many skills each time we read the story.  I’m sure you’ll notice an improvement each night!

Monday, 10/2 – We have applied engineering and a Peacemaker lesson with Mrs. Strosser.  Football reading calendars are due if you participated in this optional activity.  Book exchange is tomorrow.  Please send library books to school.

Tuesday, 10/3 – We have book exchange. We also have Phys. Ed.  Please send your child to school in sneakers.  Mrs. Mayberry and Calvin will come in to work with us today!  (Woof!)

Wednesday, 10/4 – We have Art.  It’s Eshleman picture day.  (CHEESE!)  If you would like to order pictures of your child, please order on line, or complete the picture order form and enclose your check.  All students will have their picture taken for the Eshleman yearbook.

Thursday, 10/5 – We have Music.  There will be a substitute today.

Friday, 10/6 – We have applied engineering and another Peacemaker lesson with Mrs. Strosser.  There will be a substitute today.  The students will have a spelling test. Students who are new to Eshleman this year will have a special lunch with Mrs. Kaplan (2nd grade teacher) and Mrs. Swope (5th grade teacher) during our lunch time today.  They’ll get a great big welcome and their pictures will be displayed outside the office.  Welcome to Eshleman, friends! Enjoy your long weekend, I’ll see everyone on Tuesday!
