This week in first grade….

Monday, April 9 –  We had Music today but it’s a little late to tell you that, LOL!

Today was the first day of PSSA testing for the “big kids.”  We joined them in dancing to the YMCA this morning and helped get them ready for their tests!  We also had fun writing our spelling words  on our DESKS with our white board markers.  The kids thought I had lost my mind!

Tuesday, April 10 – We have a spelling test today.  We’ll continue our new math unit on Measurement all this week.  We have Phys. Ed.

Wednesday, April 11 –  We’ll get new spelling words today.  We have library and book exchange.  We’ll have another Junior Achievement lesson on Communities and Wants and Needs.

Thursday, April 12 – We have Art class.  We’ll begin a unit on plants in Content.

Friday, April 13 – We have music again.  Report cards will come home today.  The report card is yours to keep.  Please sign the brown envelope and return it to school with the comment sheet.    I’m so proud of the growth our class has made!

The kids will have a substitute today and Monday.

Looking Ahead:

Monday, April 16 –   We have  Phys. Ed today.  Book orders are due.  Tonight is a PTO tropical smoothie night from 4-8.  Come out for a refreshing drink and support Eshleman!

Tuesday, April 17 –  We have Library (no book exchange).

Wednesday, April 18 – We have Art.   We’ll have a spelling test today.

Thursday, April 19 – Our friends from Millersville University will be coming over to do a science fair for us!  This is always a fun day!  Each of the kids will need a plastic grocery bag to carry their projects.  If you have an extra bag please label it with your child’s name and send it to school.

We have Music today.

Friday, April 20 –  Today is a 1:30 early dismissal day.   Please send any transportation changes to Mrs. Rohrer in the office.   We have phys. ed.  We’ll get new spelling words today.

A few notes:

If your student has a summer birthday we’ll celebrate it before school ends.

Has anyone seen our class book called “Lucky?”  It’s a St. Patrick’s Day book we wrote.   If you see it in a book bag or around your house, please send it in to school.  Thanks so much!
