We had another short week – YIKES! I’m hoping we can get into the groove of a regular routine next week! We have full days of school Monday-Thursday, with a 1:30 early dismissal on Friday. Please contact Jen Rohrer if your student may have any transportation changes next week.

Monday, 2/25 – Our special is library and book exchange. Please send library books to school to exchange. Eshleman is celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday this week. Today is “Thing 1 and Thing 2 Day.” Students are welcome to dress like a friend. If you would like to send the kids to school wearing a red shirt, I have a THING 1 or THING 2 label they can wear too. We can all be “twins!” We’ll have a visit from another community helper today. This time a police officer will be coming in to tell us about his job! We began chapter 6 in Math class on Friday. Please be sure to sign and return the Chapter 5 Math test as well as the LE spelling test.

Tuesday, 2/26 – Today is DEAR day at Eshleman. This means that at a surprise time of Dr. Cox’s choosing, everyone at Eshleman will DROP EVERYTHING AND READ! Students are welcome to bring some special books and a comfy blanket or small pillow to school so they can really relax and enjoy reading their stories! Our special today is Art. Please practice spelling words for a few minutes tonight. This week our sound is LONG O made by OW and OA.

Wednesdsay, 2/27 – Today is Wacky Wednesday at Eshleman. Students are encouraged to wear their mixed up, non matching clothes! Our special is Phys. Ed. Please send the kids to school wearing sneakers. Be sure to practice Math facts for a few minutes tonight. I sent home a progress report about your child’s timed Math fact progress. Our goal right now is not for 100% mastery, but to see improvement with each test.

Thursday, 2/28 – Our special is Music today. We’ll be making Green Eggs and Ham for Dr. Seuss week. Shhhhh, it’s a surprise! Please practice long O spelling words for our test tomorrow. Teachers will be switching classrooms for a few minutes today to read to a different class and grade level. Who will come in to read to our first graders?

Friday, March 1 – Our special is Library and book exchange again today. Today is a 1:30 early dismissal. Please contact the office with all transportation changes. We’ll have our Long O spelling test. Today is book character dress up day. You don’t need to choose a Dr. Seuss book! Who will I dress as? Stay tuned!

Looking Ahead:
