Hello Fifth Grade Families,
The end of February is quickly approaching, and our fifth graders continue to work, work, work and learn, learn, learn! We are SO PROUD of them and know you are, too!!!
Reading: Today we wrapped up lesson #17 and engaged with our Time for Kids, informational text. We interacted with the text, and each other, by doing a few reading and writing activities. Tomorrow, we will begin lesson #18. Our anthology selection is realistic fiction. The skill that we will be focusing on is reading to analyze and identify the main idea of a text, as well as the main idea’s supporting details. Also, ask your child to share their robust vocabulary cards, that they brought home today, with you.
Math: Last Thursday, we started chapter 10. In this chapter we will be multiplying and dividing fractions with fractions, whole numbers with fractions, and mixed numbers with fractions. We have completed lessons 1-7 in a short amount of time. The children are doing an amazing job with this chapter! Please continue to support your child at home, it really does make a difference.
- Friday, February 26th is an early dismissal
Have a good evening and a wonderful week! 🙂
