Week of November 20th….

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to our two day week!  Even though we are only together for two days, we will be stretching and strengthening our brains as always.  Read on to find out how.

Curriculum news:

Reading:  Today in reading, we read the story of Sarah Hale.  She is the woman who saved Thanksgiving!  We then read and analyzed a Text Dependent Analysis (TDA) prompt together, based on this book, and began filling out our RAP+C graphic organizer.  This graphic organizer helps us to map out our TDA essay.  Tomorrow, we will revisit the text and continue to work together on the RAP+C graphic organizer.

Spelling:  Your child does not have a spelling homework packet or test during our short week together.

Math:  Math: This week in math we will be reviewing topics from unit 5 that we struggled with as a fifth grade. We will also begin practicing how to multiply decimals by whole numbers, and decimals by decimals. There will be no homework this week since we only have 2 days of math. Keep up the hard work in math fifth graders!

I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with your children every day and for your continuing support.  Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!!

Mrs. Eby  🙂
