Week of March 12th…

Hello Everyone,

Here’s to another week of exercising, stretching our brains, and making them stronger!  Your children have been working extremely hard, and we are SO PROUD of them!!!

Reading:  In reading this week, we are working very hard to wrap up our Text Dependent Analysis Essay that we began last week. We will also continue to work on lesson nineteen while doing this.  Our focus skill is to continue to practice reading, analyzing, and identifying the main idea and supporting details of a passage.  Our anthology piece is a biography about Thomas Edison.  You fifth graders ROCK and have continued to give 150%effort…WAY TO GO AND WE KNOW YOU’LL KEEP IT UP!!!

Spelling:  Everyone received their spelling homework packet today.  They know they will turn it in on Thursday and our test will be on Friday.

Math: This week in math, we will be finishing up unit 11. Monday and Tuesday will be our review days, practicing various conversion questions, fair share, and logic word problems. The test will be on Wednesday, so the study guide will come home Tuesday night. After we complete unit 11, we move on to our last fifth grade unit of the year. Thursday we will begin our study of geometry, which will start with identifying regular and irregular polygons. On Friday we will move onto classifying triangles based on their sides and angle. Keep up the hard work fifth graders!

Have a wonderful week and thank you for all of your support!

Mrs. Eby 🙂
