Week of December 3rd…

Hello Martic 5th Grade Families,

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.  Here is what is coming down the pike that will enable us to stretch our brains and make them stronger!!!

Curriculum News:

Reading:  Today, we continued reading, analyzing and identifying the main idea with its supporting details in short paragraphs.  Tomorrow we will begin our expository nonfiction passage and work through identifying the main idea and supporting details according to its headings.  Once we have completed this, we will begin to work on summarizing. Keep working hard!

Spelling:  Your child received her/his spelling homework packet today.  She/he is aware that the packet is due on Thursday and that our test is on Friday.

Math: This week in math we are wrapping up unit 6. Monday we will focus on dividing decimals by whole numbers, and learn how to divide decimals by decimals on Tuesday. Wednesday’s focus will be dividing decimals by powers of ten and moving the decimal to the left one place value per zero in the power of 10. Thursday will be a review day for everything we have learned in unit 6, and Friday will be the end of unit test. Thank you again for the effort in trying out the online homework, and this week we are trying online answers through Google Classroom too. Keep up the hard work in math fifth graders!

Thank  you for your support and have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Eby 🙂
