Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Here are some ways, throughout the week, that we will be s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g and strengthening our brains in order to make them STRONGER!!!
Reading: Today in reading, we did a Veterans Day reading comprehension activity to build our background knowledge about it. Ask your child what Veterans Day was originally called. Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be working on figuring out the steps to finding the main idea. Thursday and Friday, we will identify the stated and implied main ideas of short paragraphs.
Spelling: Today, your child received his/her spelling homework packet. It is a review packet so there are four activity pages to complete instead of the standard three. Your child is aware of this. She/he also knows that the homework packet is due on Thursday and that our test is on Friday.
Math: This week in math, we are picking up where we left off last week in unit 5. Monday, we worked on, and Tuesday we will practice single step along with multi-step word problems for adding and subtracting decimals. Wednesday we will review everything we have covered in unit 5, and Thursday we will have the test. Make sure to get those study guides done on Wednesday evening. Friday we will end the week with working on our next unit, which is multiplying and dividing decimal numbers. Keep up the hard work in math 5th grade!
Reminders:
I don’t have any reminders to share with you this week.
Have a wonderful week, and thank you for your support!
Mrs. Eby 🙂
