Week of November 18th…

Hi, Martic 5th Grade Families,

I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Keep reading to find out what is coming down the pike this week that will enable our brains to work out and get stronger!

Curriculum News:

Reading: Today, we did a couple of activities that helped us to review working through the steps to finding the main idea. Sometimes it is directly stated and other times it is implied. Throughout the rest of the week, we will identify the stated and implied main ideas of short paragraphs and then move into longer passages. Keep staying in that growth mindset readers and writers!

Spelling: Your child received her/his spelling homework packet today. He/she is aware that the completed packet is due on Thursday. She/he is also aware that our test is on Friday.

Math: This week in math we will be practicing multiplying decimals and whole numbers on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we will then shift our focus to multiplying decimals by powers of 10. Thursday we will review the properties of multiplication, and apply them to multiplying decimals. On Friday we will review multiplying decimals, and take a quiz to show off what we learned so far in unit 6. Keep up the hard work in math 5th grade!

Reminders:

There aren’t any reminders again this week.

Thank you for your support, and have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Eby 🙂
