Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a happy Valentine’s Day and a super weekend! Keep reading to find out what’s coming down the pike this week that will help to stretch and strengthen our brains!
Curriculum News:
Reading: Today in reading, we did our first close reading of” Valentine’s Day/Money Day”. Tomorrow, the students will do a second and third close reading and answer comprehension questions, in writing, after discussing the answers with a partner. We may need to finish this activity on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday we will return to reading short narratives and identifying their primary theme and main idea. Keep staying in a growth mindset you wonderful 5thh grade readers and writers!
Spelling: Both 5th grade homerooms are taking a break from spelling this week. Everyone…Enjoy!!! 🙂
Math: This week in math, we will be continuing our work in unit 10. Tuesday we will have stations to review all of the multiplication skills we have worked on so far. Wednesday will be the unit 10 quiz, which will focus on estimation, multiplying fractions, and multiplying whole numbers. On Thursday we will move on to division, starting with dividing whole numbers by unit fractions. On Friday we will work on dividing unit fractions by whole numbers. The final test will be coming up next week, so we will keep reviewing all of these skills for the rest of this week. Keep up the hard work in math fifth graders!
There aren’t any reminders this week. Have a wonderful week and thanks for your continuous support…It is much appreciated!
Mrs. Eby 🙂
