Week of October 4th…

Hello Everyone,

I hope that you and your family were able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather that we experienced this past weekend! Take a look at what’s coming down the pike to stretch, and strengthen our brains!

Curriculum News:

Reading: Our 5th-grade readers and writers have been diligently working on their “Growth Mindset Step Books,” and they are looking wonderful!!! When they are completed, they will be displayed in the hallway for everyone to read and admire! Ask your child about their step book. As we wrap this project up, we will move into working through our first anthology lesson.  The narrative that the reading activities are centered around is a realistic fiction passage.

Spelling: Your child received their spelling homework packet today. They know that their homework packet is due Thursday and that our spelling test is on Friday.

Math: Fifth graders put in 110% effort during their multiplication unit. I am so proud of each and every mathematician. We took our unit 2 test on Friday, and now we are diving into unit 3 – division! We will learn how to divide three and four-digit numbers by one-digit numbers. Keep working hard, mathematicians!

Reminders:

Next Monday, October 11th: School is not in session.

Thank you for your support, and have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Eby 🙂
