Week of October 18th…

Hi, Everyone!

I hope that this post finds you and yours all doing well! Read on to see what we accomplished last week!

Curriculum News:

Reading:  Way to go 5th Grade Readers and Writers! You all stayed in a Growth Mindset as we reviewed the five Literary Elements of fiction!  We did this by using a Fact Find as a whole class and then by collaborating in small groups as we completed a word search!  As I buzzed from group to group,  I truly enjoyed hearing the encouraging comments that team members were giving to their teammates!

Spelling: We had our first review lesson this week, which is a combination of a few words from the first four spelling lessons.

Math: Fifth-grade mathematicians rocked unit 3! We took our unit 3 test last week and are now starting our fourth math unit- which is another long division unit. Although this time, we will be dividing by two-digit numbers! This is a shorter unit that will take less than two weeks since we have already become familiar with the long division algorithm. I am so proud of how hard each student is working!

Reminders:

Friday, Nov. 5th: There isn’t any school for students.

Thank you for your support, and have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Eby 🙂
