Week of March 7th…

Hi, Martic 5th Grade Families!

I hope you all had a super weekend! Keep reading to find out what’s coming down the pike in 5th grade! We’ll be stretching our brains and making them stronger!

Curriculum News:

Reading with Mrs. Eby:  Readers and writers have been staying in a growth mindset and working diligently to complete their two-column notes.  They then began transferring these two-column notes into a five-paragraph TDA essay!  Way to go, fifth graders!  When we have completed this task, we will begin reading and analyzing a passage to identify its main idea.  Keep up the great work!

Spelling: Your child received her/his spelling homework packet today. He/she knows that it is due Thursday morning and that our test is on Friday.

Math with Miss Miller: We have been working hard in our tenth unit- multiplying and dividing fractions. For the last few days, we have been focusing on solving multi-step word problems. Our unit 10 test is on Tuesday, March 8th. Your child will bring a study guide home on Monday night to complete as a review before the test. Our eleventh unit is measurement, where we will focus on converting units of measurement in the customary and metric systems! Keep working hard mathematicians!

Reminders: Friday, March 18th- Students are dismissed at 1:30.

Thank you for your continuous support and have a wonderful week!

Thanks,

Mrs. Eby 🙂
