Week of March 21st…

Hello, 5th Grade Families!

Happy spring! I hope that you were all able to enjoy the beautiful weather this past Saturday! Take a look at some of the brain-stretching activities that we’ll do to strengthen our brains this week.

Curriculum News:

Reading with Mrs. Eby: Today and tomorrow, we are wrapping up differentiating between the main idea and theme of a passage.  Wednesday, we will begin identifying non-fiction text features and their purposes.  This will lead us into a non-fiction piece where we will first work to become familiar with its vocabulary.  Then we’ll read, analyze,  discuss, and identify the passage’s non-fiction text features.

Spelling: Your child received their spelling homework packet today. She/he is aware that the packet is due on Thursday and our test will be given on Friday. Please continue to help your child study each week so they are prepared for their test. Thanks!

Math with Miss Miller: We will be reviewing everything we learned in our eleventh unit, measurement on Monday and Tuesday. We will take our unit 11 test on Wednesday.  As always, your child will have a study guide for homework on Tuesday night. We will start our final unit, geometry, on Thursday! I am so proud of every fifth grader’s hard work, we are definitely stretching our brains each day!

Enjoy your week and thank you for your support!

Thanks,

Mrs. Eby 🙂
