Week of October 3rd…

Hello, 5th Grade Martic Families!

I hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend and didn’t have to run between the raindrops. too much! 150% EFFORT + PERSERVERENCE = GROWTH MINDSET!!!

Curriculum News:

Reading with Mrs. Eby: Fifth-grade readers have been working hard to build their repertoire of strategies for using context clues to figure out the meaning of unknown words. They have also been word sleuths while reading to analyze different texts and determine their theme/life lesson and the 5 elements of fiction.  Way to stretch your brains and make them stronger!

Spelling: Tomorrow, Tuesday, your child will receive their weekly spelling homework packet.
Since she/he didn’t receive it today, it will be due Friday, instead of Thursday. Our spelling test will also be on Friday.

Math with Miss Miller: Fifth-grade mathematicians put their best effort forward last week as we wrapped up multiplication. This week, we will be starting our third unit: division with 1-digit divisors. We will be focusing on learning two different division strategies, as well as learning how to estimate quotients. Keep up the great work, fifth grade!

Reminders: This Thursday, 10/6/22, is picture day!

This Friday, 10/7/22, is a 1:30 dismissal!

Also, next Monday, 10/10/22, school is closed!

Thank you for your support and have a wonderful week!

Thank You,

Mrs. Eby đŸ™‚
