Today we spent some time working together and problem solving! Students received minimal materials and very little instruction. Their job was to collaborate to figure out how to get the cups from one formation into another without touching the cups with any part of their body! We had some MAJOR success. Awesome job ROCKSTARs!
August 30th is right around the corner, and we are so excited to see your bright and shining faces as you enter our doors!
We have lots of fun things planned for this year! We look forward to getting to know each of you and your families. Our goal is not only to grow you academically, but to help you develop life-skills such as organization, prioritizing your time, responsibility, and collaboration.
Don’t forget to be thinking about what you want to share with your class about your summer break. We are sure that you had some enjoyable moments, and we can’t wait to hear about them! You’re welcome to bring a picture to help share the details, or email one to your teacher.
Just a reminder that our first week of school is only FOUR days. Thursday is an early dismissal (1:30pm). We have vacation Friday through Monday for Labor Day.
The NFL Super Bowl is coming soon, so that means it is time for LeTort’s annual “Soup-er Bowl”canned soup/food collection. From Monday, February 1 through Friday, February 5, students who would like to participate may bring in cans of soup (or any canned food) to vote for their pick to win this year’s Super Bowl. All collected cans will be donated to Loft Community Partnership.
Also, please join in for a School Spirit Day on Friday, February 5– Those who wish to participate may wear any team jersey (or team colors).
This Friday is a school spirit day to culminate “The Great Kindness Challenge” that we have been doing all week. Students who wish to participate should wear bright colors.
“Letort Elementary is proud to be participating in the global Great Kindness Challenge during the week of January 25-29. It’s a week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as we can to spread positivity throughout our entire community. Students will be coming home with a checklist of ideas. Their goal is to check off as many acts of kindness as possible throughout this week. We hope all students will accept the challenge and show that KINDNESS MATTERS.”
Wednesday at Letort will be …Holiday Hats …and Masks!Get creative with a holiday hat and festive mask!! FYI…Wednesday is also an early dismissal!
Pajama Day for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was a HUGE success! We were blown away by the generosity of our LeTort students and families! Our final total was $1,589.85!! What a blessing that will be to the families with sick kids at CHOP. Thank you for being willing to donate 🙂 Congratulations to our class with the highest per-student-amount raised: MRS. WRIGHT’S 3rd GRADE CLASS!! Letort ROCKS!
This week, LeTort in combination with PMCares is collecting personal care items.
5th grade was asked to send in donations of CONDITIONER.
If you are willing and able to donate a bottle of conditioner, there are boxes in the vestibule at school to place your donations. (Each grade was assigned something different. Please check with your children’s teachers for their item if you are unsure.)
