September 16-20

We’ve had another productive week! We’ve been busy with all our subjects! Don’t forget Picture Day is coming up this week. A form for this came home earlier this week. Please remember to see the papers in the red Friday Folder. Please take out and keep the papers, then sign the sheet and return the folder on Monday.

Reading– We read a great biography about Jackie Mitchell, an amazing female pitcher who once struck out baseball greats, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. We have also practiced characterization, story elements, and finding evidence. Remember that at-home reading is an on-going assignment. Don’t forget to sign the reading calendar in your child’s planner!
Spelling – Students have been doing an awesome job on their spelling tests! Unit 3 lists will come home Monday, 9/16. The test on these words will be Friday.
Writing – We have been discussing the four types of sentences and subjects and predicates.
Social Studies – We have covered more of our Native American, PA History Unit. Students will bring home a study guide for this unit next week.
Please look for Math updates to come from Mr. Showalter.
