January 6-10

I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break! Our first two days back found us jumping right in and getting started with new and exciting concepts.
January is Mark Month at Hambright. Students will be watching various videos made by Dr. Mealy and will be reviewing the principles of leaving their mark everyday at Hambright!

Reading–We read “Mangrove Wilderness” on Friday and will revisit the selection tomorrow. If you’d like to review this with your child and learn about these remarkable trees, you can access it by using the ELA link above. It begins on page 628 of the Storytown book. The comprehension test on this selection will be Tuesday, 1/7.
Spelling – Lesson 14 list will be distributed tomorrow, Monday, and the test will be Friday, 1/10. This will be the last test of the 2nd marking period.
Writing – We have finished our nouns unit and just finished learning about idioms. We will be covering more figurative language in the coming week or so.
Content – 4R students will continue a social studies unit with Mrs. Groff and Mrs. Rios.
Please look for Math updates to come from Mr. Showalter.
