January 13-17

We had a great first full week of 2020!
Just a reminder that January is Mark Month at Hambright. Students will be watching various videos made by Dr. Mealy and will be reviewing the principles of leaving their mark everyday at Hambright! We will also have several spirit days. They are:

1/17 – Animal Day – bring in your favorite stuffed animal/wear animal print

1/24 – Rainbow Day – “Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud” – choose one bright color to wear to make a rainbow effect in each class.

1/31 – Kingdom of Kindness Month – Disney theme day

Reading–We have been working hard to support our answers to comprehension questions with text evidence. We will be putting that into practice this week as we jump back into TDA writing.
Spelling – Lesson 15 list will be distributed Tuesday, and the test will be Friday, 1/17. This lesson is a review so all of the words have been tested in previous lessons. This will be the first test of the third marking period.
Writing – We have completed our figurative language unit and will begin verbs this week.
Content – 4R students will continue a social studies unit with Mrs. Groff and Mrs. Rios.
Please look for Math updates to come from Mr. Showalter.
