February 3-7

~We continue collecting labels for our Race for Education benefiting the PTO!! Please participate if you can by filling out as many address labels as you are able. Think family, friends, and neighbors! Thanks in advance for your support!
~January and Mark Month is over. February is Kindness Month!
~Speaking of February, we will be exchanging valentines on the 14th. Students are not required to distribute valentines, but if they do, they are asked to please give one to each member of the class. Class lists will be distributed this week.

Reading–We continue Unit 4, which is a fiction unit. This week we will be discussing how to summarize fiction using the “Somebody-Wanted-But-So-Then” strategy. We will also learn how to make inferences (educated guesses) in the stories we are reading. Please support these skills as you discuss your child’s independent reading with him/her at home. Finally we will be reading a story, Firestorm this week and next. Please use the ELA tab above if you would like to review this story with your child.
Spelling – Lesson 18 list will be distributed Monday, and the test will be Friday, 2/7.
Writing – We continue our Verbs unit which is being led by Miss Wilcox.
Content – 4R students will begin a science unit with Miss Szentesy this week.
Please look for Math updates to come from Mr. Showalter.
