6th Grade Carnival – June 3rd and 4th! Students should bring change!

As part of the sixth grade’s “Pay it Forward” project, the students will host their annual end of year carnival on June 3rd and 4th.  During an extended recess time for all grade levels, the sixth graders will host carnival games and a bake sale.  Stations will include, but are not limited to, a soccer challenge, cup stacking, ring toss, relay races, face painting, and bake sale.

Students in grades K to 5th bring in spare change to play the games at each station. All money that is collected goes to a charity selected by the class. This year the students selected Water for South Sudan. This organization delivers direct, transformative and sustainable quality-of-life service to the people of South Sudan by efficiently providing access to clean, safe water.

Since all sixth grade students in the district read the book entitled, “A Long Walk to Water”, which discussed the life of Salva Dut, our classes thought this would be the perfect charity to support. The charity was founded by Salva himself in 2003.
