Club Fair and sign-ups

I hope the start of the school year is going smoothly for everyone. I wanted to take a moment to share the link with everyone to sign up for the Serteen club. Please feel free to share this link with your friends, especially those that are juniors. (We didn’t have many sophomores last year!) Remember that the Serteen accomplishes a lot of tasks each year for our community and we can’t do it without the support from everyone. It also looks good on your transcript!

Also, we will be holding a club fair during lunches on Wednesday, Sept. 4th. I am in need of 3-4 people each lunch to sit at our table and answer questions from anyone who stops by. I will give you papers and signs to have at the table. A few of you told me that you can do this next week, but please still e-mail me that you are available to help. Let me know what lunch you are working and who all is working with you. Thanks!

Meet the Teacher Night

I hope everyone had a great summer! Here we are again ready to start another wonderful school year. Meet the Teacher Night is this Thursday for parents to come out and check our your schedule of courses. We are once again asking Serteen members to be in the hallways to help direct parents on where their classes are. This is an easy event for those of you looking to get one under your belt before we start meeting. It’s also a great way for parents to see what respectable young people we have at Penn Manor!

Details: Please arrive at the high school by 5:45. Dress is business casual. (Meaning no ripped jeans. Try to look nice.) Report first to Mrs. Kroesens’s room 383 where you will pick up a little Serteen name tag and sign in. Please indicate on the sign-in sheet what area you will located at for the evening (ie. Central Complex, Hollywood and Vine, flag pole entrance, outside the old main office, math wing, etc.) You will be free to go at 7:45. If anyone is playing sports or has other obligations and will need to come late or leave early, please let Mrs. Kroesen or Miss Stover know. We look forward to seeing you!

New Student Orientation

The administration is looking for volunteers to help plan and organize our new student orientation in early August (tentatively 8/8/19). We usually have a planning/prep day in July where we make posters, talk through the schedule, etc. Then, we meet about 3 PM the day of the orientation to organize the event.
We would like to have as many student volunteers as possible. It is great service hours and looks good on a college application.  If you are interested in helping, please let Mrs. Kroesen or Miss Stover know. You will also need to give your summer contact information so the administration can give you more details closer to the event. Please include your phone number and whatever e-mail you will be checking over the summer.

Eshleman Food Fair

Eshleman is having a world food fair on Thursday, May 9th and is requesting some high school helpers for the event. I can speak from experience that it is an awesome event and the food is amazing! They would need you there from 5-7pm. Please let me know ASAP if you are available!

AMAZING JOB TODAY!!!!

You guys did an great job today at Long’s Park. I wish I would’ve taken more pictures of the finished work. The flower beds all look awesome. You worked well with the Life Skills class and even shared lunch tables, which I loved. You cleaned up all the tools which we usually don’t have time for. Deb was really happy with all we got done today. Amazing!!! You should really be proud of yourselves. Now go tell your friends and family that they need to visit Long’s Park and see your masterpiece!

Speaking of going to Long’s park… You can tell your friends and family to buy BBQ tickets too. I WILL START HANDING THEM OUT ON MONDAY! I accidentally brought them home and I’m not in school tomorrow. So please let myself, Miss Stover, Haley Garber, Bailee Hargan, or Adam Martin know if you need tickets and we will get them to you. I also see Delaney Mercado and Olivia Chipriano daily so you can let them know and I’ll get them to you. You can also stop in and see me in room 383 or see Miss Stover before school in room 378 after Monday!
