The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking applicants for its Youth Preparedness Council.
The Youth Preparedness Council is a unique opportunity for youth leaders to serve on a highly distinguished national council and participate in the Youth Preparedness Council Summit. Additionally, the youth leaders have the opportunity to complete a self-selected youth preparedness project and to share their opinions, experiences, ideas, solutions and questions regarding youth disaster preparedness with the leadership of FEMA and national youth preparedness organizations. The Lancaster County Central Park is looking for students to assist the naturalists with the maple sugaring demonstrations. Also, Furever home adoption center needs volunteers to work with their animal shelter in East Petersburg.
Now is the time to plan how you will spend your summer! Everyone should consider volunteering or attending special programs, camps etc! An excellent opportunity is the Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp, which will be held at Lebanon Valley College from June 22-27 and July 6-11, 2014. The goal of the Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp is to provide a window into the scientific basis of human health.
