What: Do you have a resume that needs some fine-tuning? Have you participated in academic and extracurricular experiences that you aren’t sure how to incorporate into your resume? If so, join us for a resume and interview skills workshop to develop your resume into something that gets the attention of potential employers! You will also have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with local employers. Sign-up here!

You’re Invited to HACC Experience Day at the Lancaster Campus!

Why attend this event? This is a great way to learn more about the programs HACC has to offer, as well as attend a variety of faculty-led workshops in healthcare, engineering, psychology, business, english, and more! You will also learn about dual enrollment opportunities and tour the Lancaster campus. Lunch will be provided. Penn Manor will be hosting a field trip to this event, so stop down in the counseling office to pick up an informational flier and permission slip. Completed permission slips are due back to the counseling office by March 22nd. Attending this event can also be used as the college visit component of your graduation project!

Who? Rising juniors and seniors, students who have already been admitted to HACC for fall 2019, undecided seniors, and students interested in dual enrollment should consider attending this event.

CAMP COLLEGE

10th and 11th grade students who are planning to attend a Four Year College should consider applying to attend Camp College! If you don’t know how or where to begin with the college search and application process this is a 2 night program designed to get you on the right path!

Tuesday, July 30 –Thursday, August 1 Cabrini University (30 minutes outside of Philadelphia)


Camp College is an intensive three day/two night workshop designed for rising high school seniors and juniors. Paired with mentors, participants will learn about all aspects of the college search and application process, experience life in the residence halls, learn about financial aid, standardized test exams and have a lot of fun! At the end of Camp College, we expect that the students will be equipped with the tools to navigate the college application process. For more information click on the link below to apply!

Spring 2019 ASVAB

Attention Juniors & Seniors!

The Spring ASVAB will be held on Wednesday, March 27th during blocks 1 & 2.

The ASVAB is a test used for military entrance as well as for further career development. The ASVAB has eight test areas: General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto and Shop Information and Mechanical Comprehension. The test will help you identify your skills in various areas and link them to careers of your interest.

Dual Enrollment Interest Meeting: Tuesday, March 5th, 2019

10th and 11th grade:  Are you interested in completing college credits early?

The Dual Enrollment meeting for students interested in taking courses this FALL 2019 will be held during homeroom (10:20-11:20) Tuesday, March 5th in the LIBRARY.  A representative from Millersville and HACC will present information about Dual Enrollment courses.

* Students who have already taken a dual enrollment course need to attend this meeting if you are applying for a FALL 2019 course. This meeting will go over any updates to the dual enrollment process.

PA College Of Health Sciences Open House-Great Way to Fulfill a Graduation Project College Visit!

Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences will be holding an open house on Thursday, February 21 from 5 PM – 8 PM. You will receive a tour of the facilities and an introduction to various healthcare professions including Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Nursing, EMT, Paramedic, Surgical Tech and more!

PA Work Aware/Skill Up Senior Seminar

Attention all current seniors: The counseling department invites you to join us in the library on Thursday, February 21st during homeroom for a PA Work Aware/Skill Up seminar. This online program allows you to complete modules and earn industry-recognized credentials that could make you a more desirable candidate for employment! Make sure to bring your computer, as you will learn how to use the Metrix Learning Online program to develop an individualized work preparedness plan. Make sure to sign up here, and you will get a pass from your block 1 teacher to attend.

Join the Counseling Department for the Health and Social Sciences Career Seminar!

What? Students will learn about in-demand careers from a panel of speakers, including a Nutritionist (Universal Health Club), an Occupational Therapist (Schreiber Pediatrics), a Clinical Mental Health Therapist (Kissel Hill Counseling), and a Registered Nurse (St. Anne’s Retirement Community). Speakers will take turns providing important information relevant to their occupation, required education, exciting job trends, and more!
