Lancaster General Health Student Volunteer Program

Applications are open for the Lancaster General Health Student Volunteer Program.

Lancaster area high school juniors, at least 16 years of age, with a sincere interest in health care and a commitment to volunteering a minimum of 50 hours throughout the program are encouraged to apply.

Students may apply for the 2020 summer session (which runs June 8 – August 30) from March 2 – March 11, 2020. Application packages must be received in the Volunteer Office by March 11, 2020. Your graduation date must be 2021.

Summer student application will be available for download from March 2 – March 11, 2020.

Deadline for application packet submission in the Volunteer Office is March 11, 2020.

Interested students can begin working on student requirement steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 prior to downloading the application.

  1. Completed student volunteer application
  2. Documentation of immunization records
  3. Copy of recent high school transcripts to support the educational requirements of the selected health care career
  4. One-page essay explaining your interest in pursuing a career in the health care profession
  5. Letter of recommendation from a health care professional, high school guidance counselor, or other professional (not a relative) that speaks of your ability and dedication to serving others
  6. Signed parental consent on application

All ’bout Construction Camp for Girls: June 2020

Attention girls: if you are thinking about a career in construction, ABC Keystone is hosting its first-ever All ‘bout Construction (ABC) Girls Camp from June 15-19, 7:30 AM to 4 PM each day, at their facility in Manheim at no cost.

Who: Girls from Lancaster County, ages 14-18

When: June 15-19, 2020.

About the Program:
The All ’bout Construction Girls Camp provides girls the opportunity explore a career in the construction through inspiration and mentoring from construction industry professionals. Campers will experience the construction trades through hands-on learning as they build and develop their self-esteem by learning skills to solve challenging projects and successfully completing them. During the camp, attendees will gain foundation skills including problem solving and managing team dynamics. Campers will take multiple field trips to area contractors to see construction in action. At the ABC Keystone training facility, they will utilize their newly-gained knowledge of select trades to build their very own take-home project! There is no fees to attend this camp.

Dual Enrollment Meeting 2020-postponed

10th and 11th grade:  Are you interested in completing college credits early?

The Dual Enrollment meeting for students interested in taking courses this FALL 2020 will be held during homeroom Tuesday, March 17th in the LIBRARY. POSTPONED. STUDENTS WHO REGISTERED AT FORM BELOW WILL GET EMAIL UPDATES IN MID APRIL

Students who have already taken a dual enrollment course need to attend this meeting if you are applying for a FALL 2020 course. This meeting will go over any updates to the dual enrollment process.
