Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week

Take the Challenge– One week this summer can change everything!

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to run a business? Are you a Pennsylvania high school sophomore or junior who dreams of being your own boss someday? Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) is a week-long, summer opportunity for you to find the answers to these questions and so much more! Your generation faces a fast-paced, business-oriented world that is constantly changing to meet the demands of the future. Change can be very intimidating, but with practical tools and appropriate knowledge, what seems intimidating can become exciting. PFEW will help you pave your road to success!

Official PFEW 2021 Dates:

Week 1 – Jul. 4-9
Week 2 – Jul. 11-16
Week 3 – Jul. 25-30
Week 4 – Aug. 1-6

But why would I want to give up a week of my summer vacation?
Everyone is looking for that one thing that sets them apart from others! PFEW is your chance to take a step towards your future and to show your future employer that you are not your ordinary high school student. At PFEW, you will have the chance to turn an imaginary company into a financial success! You and your group of peers will act as an executive management team and take a hands-on approach as you face the decisions real life CEOs face every day! You will be given a taste of the American free enterprise system as you run your student “company”, all while experiencing college life and competing for prizes. But you won’t just learn about business, you will also learn things about yourself and hone your teambuilding skills as you take the “PFEW Journey”.

Tell Me More!
As if the college and business experience isn’t enough, you will also have the chance to “rub elbows” with the best! Professionals from all across the Commonwealth come to PFEW to get a chance to meet the best and brightest students the state has to offer! Each student company will work closely with a professional business volunteer who will mentor them throughout the week. Some of Pennsylvania’s top executives and motivational speakers will inspire you with their stories of success and wisdom. If that isn’t enough incentive to attend, you will be eligible for automatic college scholarships from either of our host campuses!

All Work and No Play?…NO WAY!
While experiencing life on a college campus in Williamsport, PA, PFEW provides students with a chance like no other to make lasting friendships with students from all over the state. You and your new friends will compete in “Executive Fitness”, hang out during an ice cream social, relax at a pool party and conclude your week unwinding on the dance floor following our Awards Banquet.

PFEW, Here I Come! What Do I Need to Do to Sign Up?
Submit an application! It’s that easy! Once you apply, each student accepted into PFEW will receive a full scholarship valued at $1,500 from a Pennsylvania business or community organization to attend PFEW. Special Lancaster County Registration Fee is $150 (Submitted after acceptance.) You provide the fee and the transportation to and from Lycoming College or Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA.
