Here are the essay prompts for the Common App next year (this is relevant for current juniors!)
Current juniors could spend some time this summer working on college essays to distribute the senior year workload which is heavy in the fall, considering their coursework plus college applications. Also, juniors could ask several teachers for letters of recommendation this June to be written over the summer. Teachers get inundated with requests for letters of recommendation in the fall and winter.

This summer, young artists can join the fun on MU Campus! New Art & Design Camps will be offered for students in grades 8-12 as portfolio building opportunities for high school students. These camps are offered in the same vein as the Technology & Engineering Camps that have been so popular throughout the past 20 years and are sure to inspire budding artists. The sessions will all be held in Breidenstine Hall, conveniently located right next door to Osburn Hall, just in case students and their siblings want to mix & match.

The camps offer participants the opportunity to receive exciting hands-on experience with fascinating technology, while stimulating creative minds-on learning. If you are interested in a career in Health or Biomedical Sciences please stop in the counseling office to pick up information about a one week summer opportunity at Lebanon Valley College. You will get hands on experience in the fields of pharmacology, biochemistry, medical ethics, immunology, and molecular biology. Make the most of your summer and set yourself apart from the crowd by participating in programs like this.
The Wildlife Leadership Academy is a wildlife/fisheries focused program for HS students. If you are interested in a career in this area please stop in the counseling office to pick up information about summer programs where you can get intensive field experiences in wildlife and fisheries biology. This is a fabulous chance to get to know experts in the field and find out if this is a potential career area for you!
Millersville University is hosting a large College Fair on Thursday, March 12th and the Penn Manor Counseling Department will be taking advantage of this event being so conveniently close. Juniors who are interested in learning about how to get the most out of a college fair and who would like to research colleges, technical schools, and military programs are encouraged to pick up a permission form and return it to the HS Counseling Office by Monday, March 2nd in order to attend a morning session at the College Fair. College visits can be time-consuming and expensive. Please encourage Juniors to capitalize on this valuable experience.
In addition– From 5-7 pm parents, guardians, families and students are invited to attend the College Fair so mark your calendar.

This course will reflect any recent changes to the SAT and review important verbal and math skills assessed on the exam.
Students can become familiar with the test format and learn valuable test-taking strategies.
The course fee includes the latest version of the book, “The Official SAT Study Guide” from the College Board.

Classes for Students interested in Careers in the Law Field
CSB will offer a class from 5-7pm on two Wednesdays a month, the 2nd and 4th week, of March, April, and May, and is no cost to the student.
The classes will introduce the students to a variety of legal fields including Tort law, Criminal law, Family law, The Bill of Rights, and the Pennsylvania Legal System.
Guest speakers who are employed in the legal field will be invited to speak to the students about the law.
