They will also have a “Spend a summer day” on Tuesday, July 24th from 9am-12pm

Hampden-Sydney College wants to help young men become better leaders. That is why they are offering a Leadership challenge to those who are interested. During this leadership challenge, you will take on leadership positions and participate in team-building activities (like ropes courses and focused discussions). You will tackle a service project with other campers and further develop your leadership potential.
The SLC is a selective program for male students who have a 3.0 or higher G.P.A. (un-weighted). The program will take place from June 24 through June 29, 2018, on the Hampden-Sydney College campus near Farmville, VA. Cost to attend the program is $650 for the week; this cost covers room, board and all activities.

This summer internship is for students who want to get involved as volunteers as well as develop their leadership and organizing skills. Interns will spread the word about LSU, help coordinate an ever-growing volunteer base, and add capacity to ongoing projects. They will also learn valuable community organizing skills, such as canvassing, facilitation, coordination, communications, and fundraising.
There are four internship positions: field organizing, media & communications, website, and fundraising. Each intern will be supervised by a Lancaster Stands Up staff member and will work alongside volunteer leaders in their particular project area. All interns will have the ability to learn skills across areas of work but will have one primary project throughout the summer.

Below are some great volunteer opportunities for High School students. They are especially great for students who are interested in working with children in an educational or medical field.
Social skills: Work with Schreiber staff to help children work on skills via fun activities and adventures- Tuesdays, March 20-May 8, 5:45-7:15pm
Respite: Assist with child care at the center so parents can have a night out!- March 23rd, 5:30-8:30pm
Fairy Garden Night: Help Schreiber families during an evening of making fairy gardens- April 11, 6:15-8:00pm
Phonathon: Help us contact past donors to help ask for their generous support. This has become one of the most successful events!- April 15-17, 5:30-8:00pm
Swim Buddies: Preschool swim buddies program provides a partner for each child to participate in a swim lesson once a month during their preschool class! The swim instructor will provide all the directors for the session- Tuesday, April 10 & Friday, April 13, 9:45-10:45am & 1:45-2:45pm.
