Attention all Juniors! The U.S. Coast Guard Academy is hosting an AIM (academy introduction mission) summer program. This program will help you discover if you possess the mind, body, and character to succeed at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

2018 Summer Session dates (Sunday-Friday)

  • July 8-13
  • July 15-20
  • July 22-27

Key dates:

February 1: AIM application opens
April 1: AIM application closes
May 1: AIM notifications made by email. Session registration and scholarship application opens.
May 18: Scholarship application due. Session registration deadline for those accepted.
May 25: Scholarship notifications made
June 11: Tuition payment and enrollment paperwork due
June 15: Last call for refunds

Cornell University’s Summer College Program for HS Students

Cornell University is hosting a Summer College Program for High School Students.

There are many programs being offered to the students in 3 and 6 week sessions! The programs will be offered between June 23rd-August 7th, 2018.

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • experience what it’s like to live and learn at a great Ivy League university,
  • take real university courses,
  • work closely with Cornell’s world-renowned faculty,
  • earn three to six college credits,
  • explore majors and career options,
  • get a jump on successful college applications,
  • make friends from around the world, and much, much more.

Free College Bound Money Boot Camp

Rowan University is hosting a FREE College Bound Money Boot Camp!

This is designed as a one-day series of workshops and information tables where current students, incoming students, and family members work side by side with the University Admission Office, Financial Aid Office, and lenders to gain a head start on the competitive edge of the admissions and payment process.

When: Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 8:30am-2:00pm

How to understand your PSAT scores

College board created a very helpful video providing you with information on how to understand and get the most out of your PSAT scores! It is important to understand these scores because they give you a great understanding of how you will do on the SAT and how ready you are for college. In the short video, you will gain knowledge on how to interpret your test scores, cross-test scores and subscores, which provide you with more specific details on how you did in certain areas. This is a great resource because it allows you to see the areas in which you could improve so that you are ready for the SAT.

Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp Opportunity

Lebanon Valley College is hosting a great summer camp opportunity for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors who are interested in learning about the scientific basis of human health.

Through lectures and hands-on laboratory investigations in state-of-the-art laboratories, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, biochemistry and medical ethics. In addition, students will interact with practicing professionals in fields such as medicine, physical therapy, toxicology, genetic counseling and biomedical laboratory research.

The dates for the Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp are:

  • June 24-29th or
  • July 22-27th

2018 Summer Honors Program Opportunity

If you are an upcoming Junior or Senior, there is a great summer opportunity for you!

Cook Honor’s College, IUP is hosting a summer honors program from July 22nd-August 4th, 2018. This is a great opportunity and the donations are excellent this year! Each student who attends earns a scholarship of $1000, leaving the total cost for program at $400!

All applications are due by May 1st, 2018. All you need to do to apply is: Submit an application, get teacher recommendation and a copy of your transcript. These items can be emailed or mailed.

Workforce Prep Seminar

College is not for everyone, but it is important to have a plan for after high school! Penn Manor has put together a variety of seminars that will help seniors explore their options for life after high school. These seminars will take place during the Spring semester and there will be a couple seminars each month. These seminars range from building a good resume to having the opportunity to participate in Mock interviews with companies in the area. There are also a couple field trips that students can attend, such as visiting PA College of Health Sciences or exploring HACC’s programs that students might not be aware of. Understanding College: Academic Exploration Night

Undecided about which major you want to pursue? You are not alone! York college is hosting an Academic Exploration Night for students who are undecided about what to major in. There will be York College students there from a dozen different majors to answer any questions that families and students might have.

If you are a sophomore or a junior interested in business, the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise is for you! PFEW is about business, but it is really about so much more. Teamwork, Leadership, and Self-Discovery provided self-confidence to meet the challenges of your future. This event will allow you to get the college campus experience over the summer and you will be provided with rigorous instruction and hands-on experiences with the knowledge and skills of the 21st Century Workforce.

The “Early Bird” application is due March 2, 2018

The final deadline is April 6, 2018

** If you submit your application by the early bird due date, you will receive preferential treatment in the awarding of the scholarships and the week assignment in which students will participate
