PACAC College Fair at Millersville University

If you would like to visit and meet with representatives from colleges and technical schools, we have an awesome opportunity for you! Millersville University is hosting a regional college fair with over 150 schools. This event is FREE for Penn Manor students. We will meet at 9:00am in the Cafeteria.

When: March 16th, 2017

Where: On Campus at Millersville University

Students have two options:

  • Go to the fair only from 9:20- 10:30
  • Stay and take a tour of Millersville University’s campus from 10:30- 11:30 – you will need a packed lunch

Even if you have ZERO interest in MU it would be great to take a tour so that you learn what to ask on a tour, and what to look for when taking a tour.

(Re)Defining the Goal: The True Path to Career Readiness 

A new way to find SUCCESS after high school!
Are you interested in learning about the true path to career readiness? If so, on Wednesday February 15, at 6:30pm, there is a FREE event designed to help students gain a competitive advantage in the new economy. This event will be held at the Lancaster County Convention Center.

In this FREE presentation, “(Re)Defining the Goal: The True Path to Career Readiness in the 21st Century,” national career strategist Dr. Kevin Fleming offers clear steps that will give you a competitive advantage. Technical skills are the new currency. Do you have a plan to acquire them without breaking the bank? Get on the path to success in the new economy!

⇒ Parents and students in Grades 7-11 are encouraged to attend. All ages are welcome.

Gettysburg College STEM Scholars Program

Gettysburg College STEM Scholars Program has an exciting scholarship opportunity. With help from a generous grant from the National Science Foundation, they are offering a STEM scholarship program for students interested in STEM fields such as Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. There will be a STEM Scholars Information Session held during their Senior Open House on January 30.

STEM Scholars will have their full demonstrated financial need met for all four years with no loans, and have the opportunity to:

  • Attend a STEM-focused pre-orientation workshop with other STEM Scholars.
  • Enroll in an exclusive First-Year Seminar taught by STEM faculty.
  • Participate in bi-monthly luncheons with STEM faculty and a variety of learning activities on and off campus.
  • Take advantage of various STEM offerings, including faculty-student research, peer-mentoring, preferential residence in Gettysburg College’s Science House, and internship opportunities with industrial partners.

The deadline for Regular Decision admission (using the Common Application) is January 15, and students should file both the CSS Financial Aid Profile and FAFSA by January 15.

Attention Seniors: ‘Tis the season for scholarships! Scholarships are being added to the Penn Manor Moodle Page on a daily basis. Scholarships are free money and are available for students planning to attend technical school, 2 year school or a 4 year program. Please make sure to check out the Moodle site soon and check back on a regular basis. For any more information please make an appointment to meet with your counselor.

Senior Financial Aid Information

Seniors, beginning January 1st you can start to complete your FAFSA form for freshman year of college. View this video provided the PA Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA):

Completing the FAFSA for 2016-2017

The student needs to get a FSA ID PIN and a parent gets a FSA ID PIN. Once you receive your tax information for 2015, fill out the FAFSA application yourself or attend FAFSA Completion Night.

ACE Mentor Program-Accepting Applications

ACEMentoring

The program is open to 9th through 12th grade students, who are interested in learning more about a career in the building industry.
