For Future Military Academy Students: PA American Legion Keystone Boys State

Pennsylvania American Legion Keystone Boys State is a unique week long summertime educational program that does not emphasize classroom lectures and textbook learning. Instead, it focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governing bodies and elected public officials. It is designed to mirror the structure and operation of its respective state government.

This is a one-week leadership summer program from June 18 – June 24 which helps to develop leadership and pride in American citizenship. Students eligible to participate in this program should have completed their junior year.

If you are a student interested in the military academy this is one of the best opportunities to enhance your application.

You can find application procedures and additional information at https://pa-legion.com/programs/student-programs/keystone-boys-state/. The application is due in mid-may.

  1. I would just like to point out that KBS is not only for those interested in military academies. While it is true that some attendees pursue the academies, many others go on to attend 4-year programs at universities/colleges.
