Stall Day Results

Everyone is getting excited as Penn Manor is gearing up for its first Mini-Thon! Mini-Thon is a small scale version of Penn State University’s THON, a fundraiser that raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund, supporting research to treat and cure pediatric cancer.

On Thursday, March 24th, the Math Department at PMHS held their own fundraiser for Mini-Thon which they have called “Stall Day”. On this last class before Easter, students were allowed to bring in as much loose change as they could muster which their teacher would count by hand before class began that day. While the teacher counted the coins that were brought in, the students would have a study hall time during which they could work on something academic or read. All the money would then go to the Four Diamonds Fund to fight pediatric cancer. In short, the more money the students brought in on Thursday, the longer they could stall class.

Well, the totals are in for Stall Day, and after a long day of counting, rolling, and unrolling coins and loose change, the students raised a total of…

$3,544.93!

We are so proud of our Penn Manor students and their families who have exceeded our expectations in showing such great generosity!

What a great day to be a Comet!
