March Monthly Mathletes!

This award is given to one career prep student, one college prep student, and one honors student every month. These students are nominated and chosen by the Math Department on the basis of their hard work and leadership in the math classroom. They will have their pictures posted in the Math Wing for the month and will each receive a coupon for a free MTO at Sheetz.

Capitao

Hadley Capitao is receiving this award because he is always working diligently to get his assignments in math class completed correctly and submitted prior to the due date.  Every week, he advocates for his own education by signing up to attend homeroom tutoring, as well as asking and answering questions in class.  He is a classroom leader, and he did a great job helping others by serving as a peer mentor/tutor in class and during homeroom!  His teachers are very proud of his hard work and dedication in CP Algebra 2.  Keep up the great work, Hadley!

Ney

Emilee Ney’s advancement from the college prep track to Honors Calculus this year is to be commended. She is receiving this award because she consistently does all assigned homework, advocates for herself when she does not understand a question, and is willing to work with others, often explaining how to use a Calculus technique. Emilee’s diligence during her entire Penn Manor math career has been an example to her peers. Her desire to become a meteorologist and recognition that Calculus is integral to the meteorology curriculum reflects her academic maturity. Way to go, Emilee!

Wesley

Caeleb Wesley is receiving this award because he is always working diligently to get your assignments in math class completed correctly and submitted prior to the due date. Everyday he puts forth his best effort to understand the new topics.  Every week he advocates for his own education by completing more than the required ALEKS topics and completing his weekly reviews.  He always checks about review problems that he is unsure of in order to ensure that he is maintaining the skills he has already learned.  He is a classroom leader, and he does a great job helping others by serving as a peer tutor in class!  He should be so proud of all of the math skills he has mastered this semester.  His teachers are very proud of his hard work and dedication in Intro Algebra B.  Keep up the great work, Caeleb!
