Penn Manor MiniTHON is one of the many branches of the overall THON held by Penn State. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. They are commited to helping the lives of children and families who have been impacted by childhood cancer. THON.org states, ” Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research – all in pursuit of a cure”. THON is most known for being a 46-hour dance marathon where you can not sit or sleep. It is held at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center. Even though Penn Manor’s MiniTHON seems much smaller it still plays a significant role in helping families. Last year we held a 12-hour event that had live music, zumba, and multiple sports competitions! We raised a total of $41,207.31 throughout the year to help the families fighting pediatric cancer at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. We are looking forward to aiming for an even bigger goal this year! Visit https://thon.org/ for more information.
