In the next ten days help is needed to go through the clothing that is in storage pods on the Shellenberger farm (Manorfield Farm – 1411 Prospect Rd). Work will be done after school/weekends.
The disassembled set is in pieces at the back of the stage. By April 10th, we need to have the stage cleared (those pieces can be moved into the scene shop briefly) – but then must be cleared of the scene shop by April 13th.
What needs to be done?
-Go through the clothing in the pods to remove any “everyday” clothes that can be laundered and donated to the Loft or Martic Pantry clothing bank. (Help needed to sort, some to take home to do laundry, and some to deliver to the organizations.)
-Other items – coats, dresses, suits – should be delivered to donate directly to Goodwills around the area (we cannot all go to donate at the same place!) Mrs. Shellenberger has compiled a list of locations – if we can load your car with items for you to take to one of those locations, that would be great.
When is help needed?
Mrs. Shellenberger has set these dates when she can be available to oversee the project: 3/30 (tomorrow!) and 3/31. April 3,4,6,8,10. (April 6 and 10 are “no school days”)
April 11th and 13th will be used to transfer and load-in pieces from PMHS.
SIGN UP HERE using this google doc – add your name wherever, however, and whenever you can help!
Transportation?
Anyone who can get themselves there after school 3:00-5:30 can drive themselves – there is plenty of parking at the farm.
Mrs. Mintzer is willing to drive students from PMHS to the farm on any school day – but only if a parent/guardian reaches out via email to set it up in advance. (Minivan -seats 7 passengers). Parents can then come to the farm by 5:30 to pick them up to go home.
Snacks & water will be provided each day! (Yes, I am begging, and will bake to feed you an after-school snack!)
If you have questions, please contact one of us asap. Anyone is welcome to help – bring a friend … and you are welcome to keep anything you’d like (even if it’s just for fabric for other projects, cosplay, etc). It all must go!
