This Event has been cancelled, due to unforeseen circumstances.

There is an opportunity for students to help an elderly couple around Millersville on Saturday, September 18th from 8:00 AM until about 11:00 AM.  
Moving boxes need to come up out of the basement and be loaded onto a U-haul truck near Columbia Avenue (the old Hambright School area). When the U-haul truck arrives at the new location near Central Manor Mart, boxes will need to be unloaded into the garage. You must let us know by Thursday, September 9th if you are able to help.

United Way Day of Caring!

For 30 years, United Way of Lancaster County has brought hundreds of volunteers together to participate in Day of Caring. This annual, two-day opportunity gives individuals, families, and teams of volunteers from local companies and organizations a chance to be a part of a county-wide effort to give back by rolling up their sleeves and completing special projects for a non-profit organization. This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11, 2021. Opportunities are available at a variety of locations throughout the County.

Volunteer Opportunity!

Our athletic director is looking for a running partner for a student with special needs who is on the cross country team. If you have an interest in special needs, such as an interest in education, this may be a great fit for you! The goal of the relationship of the volunteer and the student would be for someone to help support, encourage, and redirect the student during practice and upcoming meets. Our coaches  will continue to oversee the student, but this would allow for an additional person to help him participate to the fullest extent.

Help Still Needed

An elderly man who is a member of Mrs. Foster’s church has recently moved into a home.  He has no  family. Help is needed to empty and clean out his apartment.  It’s across the street from House of Pizza in Millersville.

First work day was July 17,  Saturday at 10:00 AM, but there is still work to do. Interested students can contact Mike at 717-201-7891 to arrange a time to help.  Please mention Shelby Foster when you call him to make the connection.

New form submission procedures:

Attention members: 

We want to remind you that we encourage everyone to work on their community service hours throughout the summer.  Senior year tends to be a very busy year and the more hours you complete over the summer the less you will have to do during the busy school year.  We have made a few adjustments to the procedures for submitting pre-approvals and verification forms.  Please follow the procedures as outlined below: 

Step 1: Submit a pre-approval form via the Google Form in our Google Classroom. This is time stamped and Mrs. Myers and I will review submissions periodically.  This must be completed before your event!
Step 2: Bring a verification form with you to your service activity and have it signed by the person supervising the activity.  
Step 3: Submit your verification form via the Google Form in our Google Classroom.  This is time stamped and must be submitted within 30 days of completion of your service activity.

United Way School Supply Event

Volunteering opportunity is available in August! United Way is hosting a Back to School event for all students in Lancaster City. August 9, 14, and 15, volunteers are needed to stuff backpacks (only on August 9), collect donations, sort materials, and assist families on the day of the event. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday (August 14 and 15) at Clipper Magazine Stadium (650 N. Prince Street). If you are interested you can sign up at

Summer Help Needed

Penn Manor High School Administration is looking for student volunteers to help with packing, unpacking and moving classroom supplies. Help will be needed at various points throughout the summer. If you are available, please contact Dr. D’Amico ( and include your easiest contact method (email or text).
