As mentioned in an earlier post, we revised the required number of volunteer hours that you must complete for 2019-20 to maintain membership in the Penn Manor chapter of NHS for your senior year. This expectation was changed from 25 hours to 15 hours. All juniors will have until August 31, 2020 to complete the 15 hours. We will continue to be flexible on how you complete your hours, but you must send an email with a description for pre-approval. Then complete a verification form and have it signed by the person supervising the volunteer work. If you already have 15 hours completed, we will apply it to your 2020-21 volunteer requirement. We strongly encourage you to get hours completed in a timely fashion, but at the same time, following safe guidelines.
Here are several other updates:
- Water Street volunteering will remain on pause for the summer. We will explore resuming this volunteer opportunity if Water Street is receptive to having us return in the Fall.
- Contact Mike Gerner, at (717)413-6667 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering at Millersville community pool.
- Any funds that you collected for the Chicken BBQ MUST be returned. We have been contacted by a staff member who has yet to have his money returned. If you have questions about how to facilitate this, please contact Mrs. Myers at email@example.com
- Historically, we have participated in the United Way Day of Caring, scheduled for Saturday, September 12th. Please mark your calendar now, and watch for updates about this event, as it will be subject to COVID-related guidelines.
