Hello Central Manor musicians! Thank you to our chorus and band musicians who have carefully watched for school delays or cancellations. Please remember that if we have a delay on a chorus or band day, then rehearsal is cancelled. This has happened several times!
Our Spring concerts will be here soon. Please make sure that these dates are on your calendars
April 5, 2018 7pm @ Penn Manor High School–Combined CHORUS concert
April 24, 2018 7pm @ Central Manor–Chorus, Band, Strings and Grade 1 concert
May 3, 2018 7pm @ Penn Manor High School–Combined BAND and STRINGS
The band and chorus students will be going to the high school to rehearse during the school day on April 4 for chorus, and May 2 for band. I will be sending permission slips home with the students within the next several weeks. Please be sure to fill out the permission slip and return to school so that all of our musicians may participate in our short trip to the high school to practice.
Looking forward to a great concert season!
Our holiday concert was a great success. Thank you to all of the student performers and audience members for a wonderful evening.
Our rehearsals will resume in January on the following dates:
Chorus–January 9, 2018
Band–January 10, 2018
Please come to the front doors as usual. I will let the first “wave” of students in at about 8:05. If you arrive later, please come in the outer front door and buzz the office to let you in. After I open the door for the first group of students I am not allowed to put a doorstop in. Please understand this new practice for the safety of our school.
Thanks and see you in January!
Our instrumental lesson groups and performing ensembles are off to a great start at Central Manor. Instrumental students have been working with Ms. Almoney and Mrs. Repkoe for several weeks and have all of the information that they need about scheduling, materials, etc on Ms. Almoney’s blog. Also students have band folders with lists of their lesson dates and practice logs.
Our chorus started rehearsing on September 26. We have a large group of over 55 students and we are sounding wonderful. Thank you for remembering that students are dropped off at the front door.
Our band started rehearsing on September 27. It has been great to see the students taking the next step in their musical development by playing with a large group. Again, thanks parents for dropping students off at the front door for rehearsal.
Our first concert performance will be on December 5, 2017. 2:30 assembly during school and 7:00pm evening concert at CM. This concert will feature band, chorus and 3rd grade.
Keep practicing and attending your lessons and rehearsals!
I hope that you are ready for another musical year at Central Manor. During their first music class, all 4th grade students will be given a sheet about the option of signing up for instrumental lessons. Please look at this information and follow the directions for registration if you are interested in learning how to play an instrument.
Students in 5th and 6th grade will have the opportunity to join the chorus. Interested students may pick up a sign up sheet in music class.
Band and string students will be given their lesson assignments within the first few days of school. Students who are ready will receive their band sign up sheets from Mrs. Repkoe at their music class.
I am looking forward to another great year of making music together!
Our Central Manor concert season has come to an end. What an exciting and fulfilling musical year it has been for our performing organizations. Our chorus performed in an all elementary concert on April 12 and in our CM concert on April 18. The band and orchestra performed in our concert at CM on April 18 and at the all elementary combined concert on April 20. The first graders also did a wonderful job on April 18.
Our before/after school rehearsals and concerts are over for this year. Students will continue with their instrumental lessons through the end of the year.
Miss Almoney and I would like to wish the 6th graders good luck in the middle school music program and hope that they continue to participate and enjoy it!
Thank you again to all parents and caregivers who support our student musicians in many ways.

We have completed our Spring concert season and it was wonderful! Thank you to students and parents who have all worked hard to make our music program successful.
Our rehearsals for band and chorus are over for the year. Participants will receive a certificate at our last day of school Shine Time. Lessons during the school day will continue until the end of the year.
Sixth graders–I hope that you continue to sing and play in middle school. Fifth graders–I will see you next year for band and chorus. I also hope to have many new members as our current fourth graders move into fifth.
Thanks for a great musical year,
