Calling Martic Angels!

The holidays are right around the corner, and once again the “Martic Angels” will be raising money to support our community members.  If you are able to help, we would like to ask for a $1.00 from each family—simply place it an envelope and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday, December 2nd!

All of the money that we collect will be used to buy food gift certificates for our families who need extra help during the holidays this year.

Thanks for your support and have a wonderful holiday season!

Our “Skype”ing Friend

Our class had our first reading with a new friend.  Mrs. Pollock loves hearing first graders read.  As an introduction, the class read a favorite story from our reading series to her. She enjoyed hearing “Little Red Hen Gets Help” read aloud by the whole class.  Kristin helped out by showing her the pictures.  We will have students read to her on a weekly basis, when possible.

We can dance!

Martic was fortunate to have Ms. Janet Peck spend the day with us on November 2.  She taught small workshops throughout the day.  Students had fun listening to African music, and learning a new style of dance.  The entire student body came together for an assembly at the end of the day.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Martic is collecting food to donate to local families for the Thanksgiving holiday.  We are specifically collecting GRAVY, CANNED VEGGIES and CRANBERRY SAUCE.  High school students will collect the food and deliver it to the Y by November 18th so they can organize the boxes.  The food will be used for families in the Penn Manor School District and the other districts. Boxes are in lobby of the school.  We will continue to collect food donations until November 18th.  Thank you in advance for your support during this holiday season!
