Catching Compliments

Students in 1-S have earned their first reward.  They successfully caught 25 compliments from other teachers and staff.  Students love adding the baseballs to our baseball mitt.  Their first choice: Have lunch in the classroom.  It was such a beautiful day, we enjoyed a picnic-style lunch in our school’s courtyard.  What fun!?

Meet the Teacher Night!

Meet the Teacher Night is here!  Your students have a lot they would like to show you about first grade!  They practiced how to be a “tour guide” and are excited to show you all around.  I look forward to meeting you tomorrow, Thursday between 4:30 and 6:30.  Stop in anytime for a fun, informal evening!  The book fair will be set up during those hours.   Also, please feel free to stick around for the PTO meeting at 6:45.

See you then!

New for this year~The high school’s fall sports teams are sponsoring a District wide “Pink Out” this year. Please join the fall sports teams with their efforts to raise $$$ for cancer awareness.

On October 4th, they will be having a district wide “pink out” for all schools in the district. They will also be having a “Pink Out” in the stands of the football game that evening.

Order your “Comets Fight For the Cure” t-shirts from any fall sport athlete, or by clicking the link below.  I have attached an order form if you would be interested in ordering.  I can take your order by Wednesday, September 18 and I will see that you receive your shirt.  If paying by check, may check payable to “Friends of PM Field Hockey.”

Pink Out

We have had 5 awesome days in 1-S! I continue to be impressed with the students in my class.  Thank you to the families who returned the papers that were sent home last week.  Your help and support means so much!   Just a few reminders:

-Please remember the PTO sign-up sheet for committees.  Any amount of time that you can provide to the PTO is greatly appreciated.
-Giant A-Plus rewards sheets were sent home last week.  This is the easiest fundraiser ever!  Just provide your Giant A-Plus number and our school receives credit for the grocery shopping you already do!
-Remember to save those Box-Tops for our school programs as well.
-Wednesday is our “Rita’s” night!  Come out between 6:00 and 8:00 for your free Rita’s ice!
-If you still have your Reading Pledge Calendar from the summer, please see that they are returned to school.  The Reading Queen is getting ready to reward our summer readers!
