Monthly Archives: December 2013

A few reminders…

Due to missing the day of school last week, the spelling test for Lesson 12 will be on Friday, December 20.

Snow is melting, so we will no longer have students dress for snow play at recess.  Students had fun, but we’ll have to wait until the next snow comes to bring in your snow gear.

For Friday’s All-School Opening….parents are always welcome at each month’s event.  Tomorrow there are a lot of activities happening, but first grade is not “performing” on stage.  They will stand to lead a sing-along with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”.  We are scheduled to do that about half-way through the long assembly.  If you would like to come, great!  We’ll do our best to make room! 🙂  After that song, you are free to leave, or stay for the entire show!

Thank you for all of your good wishes this 2013.  Here’s to a wonderful holiday week and a fabulous 2014!

School Calendar Changes

Due to the snow cancellation on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, there have been some changes in the district calendar.  Please make note of these changes.

Friday, January 17, 2014 – School is in session for the full day.

Monday, January 20, 2014 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: NO SCHOOL.

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 – Secondary Inservice day.  NO SCHOOL FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.  Elementary students will be in school with a 1:30 early dismissal.  No PM Kindergarten.  This is a “day 1,” to make up for the cycle day 1 we missed back in November when high school was in session.

Friday, February 14, 2014 – School is in session for all students.

SNOW DAY!!!

Penn Manor is now CLOSED today, Tuesday, December 10.  I hope you all have a great time in the snow today!

Reminder:  I will not be in school tomorrow.  Mrs. Peifer is teaching on Wednesday.  Students have book exchange tomorrow (day 5).

Because of this day off, class will now be in session on Friday, February 14.

Recess fun in the snow?!?!?!

Important fun message from Mrs. Murr:

If we are lucky enough to be in school tomorrow (I hope so!) and we get some fun snow I will gladly take out any first graders that come to school prepared to play.  We will go out for PM recess! Students will need boots, snowpants or an extra pair of pants, a warm coat, gloves/mittens/hats/hood/scarves and an extra pair of socks is always a good idea! It gives us some great writing opportunities. For anyone not able to go out they will still have recess, just indoors!

Thanks Mrs. Murr!

Snow delay!

Tomorrow, Monday, December 9, we will have a 2-hour delay!!!  I hope you all had a great “snow day” today.  Whether you played outside, stayed indoors, or did a little of both, hopefully you were able to take advantage of this snowy weather to sharpen your saw.

Fingers crossed that the freezing rain won’t be too bad overnight.  Hoping to see everyone tomorrow!
