The first graders (and first grade teachers!) had a BLAST at the park today. From whiffle ball and kickball, to frisbee and soccer, sliding, swinging, digging, creating…. they did it all! We had a fun picnic-style lunch, played a little more, created a chalk art masterpiece, blew bubbles, had freeze pops, and even a fun round of first grade BINGO! Everyone went home exhausted! Ask your first grader their favorite part of the day!

The kids chewed gum in class on Wednesday….

Some important things to make our day at the park a success:
*wear sunscreen (apply it at home)
*wear sneakers
*dress for the temperature – it’s looking like shorts weather right now. HAMBRIGHT LEADER shirts would be perfect for the day!
*bring a bagged lunch and drink (no glass bottles please), students who ordered from the cafeteria will get their lunch in the morning
*bring a water bottle, try freezing it
*bring a beach towel to sit on if you want
*bring appropriate sports and outdoor play equipment such as balls, wiffle ball and bat, jump ropes and frisbees (It helps to have everything labeled with your name.) Plastic grocery bags are helpful for transporting the equipment.
*wear hats and sunglasses if you want
*be ready for a fun days outdoors
*NO electronics of any kind!
The students did it again, they reached their Box Top goal. The PTO appreciates all the box tops that families clip. Students earned a PAJAMA DAY from the PTO! This will take place Thursday, May 7. Students are allowed to wear their pajamas to school. They may bring along slippers to wear indoors. (Kids will need regular shoes/sneakers for lunch and recess). If they prefer to wear school clothes on the bus, students may change into pajamas here at school.
Way to synergize first grade families!!!
