Reminders!

Tomorrow (Friday, April 29) is Hambright’s Fine Arts Day!  It’s perhaps my favorite day of the school year.  If students have Leader shirts, they are encouraged to wear them tomorrow.  Some sessions will include dancing, so pants/shorts and sneakers are best.  Looking forward to an inspiring day tomorrow!  🙂

Poetry Party

The first graders would like to thank the students from Mrs. Martin’s class (and Mrs. Martin!).  They joined us on Friday to share our poetry books.  What a fun way to share our work, and improve our reading fluency too!  Thanks 5M leaders!

Runny Noses

It’s finally that time….we are officially OUT of tissues.  It’s been a good year, but Springtime allergies are upon us.  If you see any good sales on tissues, and can donate any to our classroom, our sniffly noses would appreciate it.  Thank you! 🙂

PICNIC

To celebrate reaching our “Race for Education” label goal…the first graders enjoyed a picnic-style lunch.  Who knew that on April 8 we’d have snowy weather?  We all had a great time with an INDOOR picnic and some “goNoodle” fun!

Poetry

Last week we began our poetry unit.  The students’ first assignment was to begin thinking like a poet. “Poets see things in a fresh, new way.”  They had fun looking at classroom objects and giving them new uses!

PICNIC!

Just a reminder of the first grade picnic tomorrow.  Rain or shine!  Please feel free to send a blanket or beach towel for your child to use for our rewarding lunch.

Students will be dismissed at 1:30 Friday also!

Thank you!
