What a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

We had a fantastic day in First Grade.  I am so proud of the way students behaved today.  We were productive and mostly kind to one another today.  Not to mention, all names were on all papers today!  Woo hoo!  Way to be proactive first grade leaders!  We completed our work with time for a game and a “goNoodle” breathing exercise. Thank you parents for encouraging this hard work daily.

A friendly reminder that tomorrow is our Book Exchange day.  Students should bring their library books back so they can exchange for a new one tomorrow morning.

Thank you!

Run for Fitness!

Is this Saturday, September 24th at Comet Field!!

This is for all girls and boys in grades K – 6.

All students received a race form last week.

Students DO NOT return forms to Hambright. They should bring their completed race form with them to Comet Field on Saturday, September 24th, between 8:00-8:45 a.m.

TWO HOMEWORKS???

Today your children are bringing two papers home for “homework.”  One of them is the math paper (they are to complete, with help from you where needed).  The other is a letter from Mr. Howe.  This is “mom/dad’s homework.”   If you can complete it by tomorrow, EXCELLENT!!!  If not, just have your child return the form as soon as possible.  This will help when trying to schedule 23+ conferences for November.

Thank you for your help!

See you soon!

Just a reminder about our “Meet the Teacher” night this evening.  Doors will be open from 4:00-6:00.  This is a drop-in event, nothing formal.  Just stop in, say  hello, have your child show you around (lots to see in the classroom!) and the rest of the building.  I look forward to meeting you tonight!

Book Exchange Info

Just a note….book exchange will take place on every other day D.  This can be somewhat confusing with our previous “6-day” cycle.  I will always include in my newsletter when to have library books back to school.  The first books came home this Monday.  They will need to be returned Thursday, September 22.  If students do not return their library books that day, kids will not be permitted to check out a new one when we visit the library.  Thank you!

Friday Fun!

The students in 1-S worked so hard today!  They are trying their best learning about more “short a” vowel sounds in words, how to make an addition number sentence, and writing/drawing complete stories in writing workshop.  They completed work with 10 minutes to spare before music class.  What a nice reward on a hot day!
