Kids at Work Day!

As a way to promote career exploration and awareness with our elementary students, Penn Manor elementary schools are planning a special day across the district.  On Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017 students will be invited to wear clothing that would represent a career that they may be interested in exploring as an adult.  For example, your child may come dressed as a construction worker, doctor, etc.  Please make sure that your child’s clothing is appropriate for a day of learning and not distracting.  As an added component to the “Kids at Work” day, teachers and staff will be wearing their college, military, trade-school, or past/present career attire.  Our hope is that “Kids at Work” day will be a great way to start conversations at home and at school about different types of careers, why someone chose a career, and what kind of training/schooling is needed to get started in a particular career.  The Penn Manor Elementary School Counselors would like to thank you in advance for your support for “Kids at Work” Day.  If you have any questions, please contact Nichole Hinkle at Nichole.Hinkle@pennmanor.net or by calling the school.

Calendar Change

On Tuesday night the School Board approved a minor revision in the school calendar for the current 2016-2017 school year.  As a result, the date for the early dismissal in May moved from May 19 to May 12, 2017 to coincide with the date of the high school prom.  Please take note of it on your calendars at home.  Thank you!

Nominations requested by the district office

Penn Manor is overflowing with outstanding teachers & employees. Every year when the superintendent surprises them with the news, the individuals chosen will highlight the fact that they are just one of hundreds of outstanding teachers/employees in the district who just happen to be the “ambassador” for the entire group selected.

Nominate this year’s representative for the award –
