We have had a fun productive week learning about fire safety…..in addition to learning /long e/ spelling patterns, learning about pets (and helping animals), measuring and estimating in both centimeters and meters, finishing our unit on the 7 Continents, writing a paragraph, and more!

**Thank you for the donations towards Pequea Point Break. I think we are close to having Dr. Murray (and some teachers?!?!?) receive a pie in the face!

Today the Szentesy Squad had a very successful fire drill, took a virtual field trip to a fire station (on SeeSaw), talked to some real firefighters, learned about the equipment, and even climbed on a real fire truck. The boys and girls practiced getting my “pretend family” out of a house with a Fire Escape Plan. Tonight they should talk about a meeting place for the family in case of an emergency at home.

We also wore red and yellow today. Thursday is “Sweats Day” and also please remember your library books!

Wednesday is: “Wear red/yellow” day for Fire Safety month. The fire fighters will be here and we will get to experience/learn more about this important job!

Wednesday is: “Wear CRAZY SOCKS” if you are in Amistad. Way to go collecting the most points last week!

Wednesday is: Our test on the 7 continents. Study that review sheet once more tonight!

The Szentesy Squad members were all incredibly focused partner readers. They stayed on task, helped one another when stuck on words, praised their classmates for a job well-done. Keep up the amazing reading second grade!
