Gingerbread Cookies

We will be reading and comparing several gingerbread stories in school — The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Girl, The Gingerbread Baby, The Gingerbread Cowboy, and more!

Our kindergartners will decorate their very own gingerbread cookies next week.  If you would like to donate an item to help decorate, please sign-up below.  🙂  We will need all items sent to school by Thursday, December 13th.  Thank you!!!

December and January volunteers

Some parents have asked about volunteering in our classroom….  If you’d like to volunteer in our classroom during the months of December and/or January, please follow the link below to sign-up.  Our volunteers generally help students during our writing time & small group time, and assist with copying, cutting, and other classroom tasks.

We are also looking for a few parents to help out with our “Reindeer Day” at the end of December.

Please keep in mind that all classroom volunteers must have clearances on file with the district.

Thanksgiving Feast

Our kinder-kids enjoyed their Thanksgiving feast right before break.  We had yummy Thanksgiving snacks, played some games that Pilgrim and Native American children may have played, and did some art work.

A BIG THANK YOU to those who donated items for our feast and to the parents who helped with our games.  We are thankful for all of our wonderful families!

Check out these photos that show our friends having fun together!

First Snow

Our AM friends enjoyed seeing the first snowfall of the year yesterday!  We caught a few snowflakes on a piece of black paper and used our magnifying glasses to check out their snowflake shapes.  It was the perfect kind of snow for us to see a few perfectly formed snowflakes.  The highlight might have been catching some snowflakes on our tongues.  There’s nothing sweeter than the excitement of the first snowfall!

Early Dismissal

Kindergarten students will dismiss at 11:35 today as usual.  Children who usually go to the WRAP program will NOT go to Pequea today.  They should be picked up at Conestoga at 11:35.

There is NO PM kindergarten today.

Elementary students in grades 1-6 will dismiss at 12:15.

Kindergarten Friendship Feast

We’re learning about the first Thanksgiving feast and planning a “Friendship Feast” of our own. Our kinder-kids will wear Pilgrim or Native American hats to get into the Thanksgiving spirit and our feast will feature kid-friendly snacks inspired by some traditional Thanksgiving foods. We’re not doing turkey, mashed potatoes, and the like — instead, we’ll turn ordinary snacks into an exciting kid-friendly feast! We will also play a few games that Pilgrim and Native American children may have played many years ago.

If you would like to help out or if you are able to donate an item, please follow the link to sign up below and send the item(s) to school by Monday, November 19th.  We are also looking for a few volunteers to help out with our activities.  (Volunteers must have clearances on file with the school district.)  You can sign up to volunteer by following the link also.  Thank you for your help!  We are THANKFUL for you!
