Applause Meeting Rescheduled

We apologize for any inconvenience created by the cancellation of last night’s booster meeting.  The decision to cancel was made at 4:15  – after receiving several message from parents of cast/crew members expressing concerns for flooding, and a tornado watch in place until 7 pm.  Witnessing a flooded hallway outside the bandroom complicated the matter even more.  Considering that we have students involved from all over the district – and hearing news reports of trees down – we felt it best that the teenage drivers, in particular, not be put in a situation where they would need to be in that type of weather situation, and cancelled all theatre activities for last evening.

Traditionally, we haven’t needed to worry about creating a phone chain for the fall play – we expect it more with the spring musical rehearsals and winter weather in January and February.  However, after last year’s hurricane, and yesterday’s torrential downpour, we will be rethinking our plan!

An announcement was made at the after-school crew work session, and all cast members were notified personally.  We also updated the Penn Manor Theatre Facebook page.  (This blog could not be updated until it was too late, because of not having access to the internet when it would have been timely.)  With it being the first meeting of the year, and never knowing exactly who was planning to come, we did the best we could under the circumstances.

We so appreciate your support of our program, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused.  We would like to have another try  – and plan to meet tomorrow night (Thurs, Sept 20th) at 7:00 pm.     If this new date & time prevents you from attending, please check back here on Friday for a posting of the minutes of that meeting, which will also include contact information for the various upcoming projects and activities.  Please also keep an eye on your email for information gathered from the parent surveys that accompanied the audition/crew paperwork.
