Week of September 11th…

Hello, Everyone!

Wow! The 2023/2024 school year has kicked off with a superly, stupendous start! Why? It is all due to our fabulous fifth graders who walked through Martic Elementary’s doors on August 28th in a growth mindset! They came in ready to be an active member of a learning community. A society where the participants work together to establish a safe, trusting, supportive, and collaborative environment where making mistakes occurs on a daily basis. Thank you, Martic families, for all that you have done to make this happen… It is truly appreciated!!!

Curriculum News…

ELA: Over the past several days, our readers, writers, listeners, and speakers have been working extremely diligently to review context clues, figurative language, and how to restate a question when responding to a prompt.

Spelling: We previewed our first spelling unit on Monday. Your child was given a homework packet. She/he is aware that the completed pack is due on Thursday morning. He/she also knows that our first spelling test will be administered on Friday.

Math: 5th-grade mathematicians have been reviewing reading and writing numbers to the millions, identifying the place value of numbers from the thousands to millions, relating decimals to fractions, comparing decimals to the thousandths, and ordering decimals from the thousandths.

Fifth-graders, thank you very much for being such wonderful and unique individuals who are kind, caring, and helpful… YOU ROCK!!!

Reminders:

Next Friday, September 22nd is a 1:30 dismissal.

Thank you for your support and have a wonderful week!

~ Mrs. Eby 🙂
