Week of December 4th…

Hello, Everyone!

Happy December to all of you! Isn’t it true that time flies by? I’m sorry that it’s been a couple of weeks since I last sent a message. I hope that this post finds you and yours all doing well! Our fifth graders have been hard at work and staying in a growth mindset the majority of the time. Keep reading to find out what we’ve been stretching and strengthening our brains with.

Curriculum News:

Spelling: This week your children are working with words that follow the (VCCCV) spelling pattern. They received their list and homework packet this past Monday. They know that it is due tomorrow, Thursday, and the test will be on Friday.

ELA: Yesterday, each child worked through the end of Unit #2’s assessment on LinkIt. Today, we began Unit #3 which covers Nonfiction: main idea, supporting details, and summarizing.

Math: 5th grade mathematicians have been diligently multiplying and dividing decimals in Unit#6. They have also been designing a “Dream Bedroom” by purchasing from the online catalogs of Target and Ikea! Ask your child to share the details of this project with you.

Thank you for you support, and have a wonderful rest of your week and weekend!

Best,

Mrs. Eby 🙂
