Week of November 2, 2015

Hello From Fifth Grade,

It is hard to believe, but today is the end of the first marking period.  It has been a great nine weeks in fifth grade, and we are looking forward to the next marking period.

Curriculum News:

Math: We have completed chapter 4, and we will take our test this week.  Mrs. Iddings’ homeroom will take the test tomorrow, and Mrs. Eby’s homeroom will take the test on Wednesday. The main focus for our next chapter, chapter 5, will be adding and subtracting decimals. Don’t forget to use your online resources when working with your child at home.

Reading: We will be wrapping up lesson 7  throughout the remainder of the week.  Mrs. Wall will be in with us again on Thursday.  We will be engaging in Text Dependent Analysis (TDA) activities with her! Ask your child to share their experience.

Other news: Tomorrow,  5th grade students will meet with Mr. Wisman, Tech support, to set up their private passwords for Saphire, our on-line grade book. Students will be able to access their grades and track their progress.  Teachers will not have access to student passwords.

Dates to Remember:

Wednesday, November 4 – 8:00 am PTO meeting

Friday, November 6 – No School for Students

Monday, November 9 – Wednesday, Nov 11 -Book Fair
